Svetlana Stoli is a decade plus veteran of New York City nightlife - a Russian-born, NY-forged drag powerhouse whose artistry blends political satire, theatrical intelligence, high glam, camp absurdity, and the kind of comedic timing that feels illegal in several countries.
Originally from Izhevsk, Russia (yes, the birthplace of the AK-47 - which could explain how she sharp she reads), she arrived in the United States on a Fulbright scholarship (wow smart) with an MFA, a dream, and absolutely no intention of becoming a drag queen. Like any good immigrant story, she was simply trying to survive, thrive, and find a creative outlet that wasn't teaching "Hello, my name is..." to ESL students.
Drag found her in the mayhem of New York City.
Then she sharpened it, weaponized it, and turned it into a career.
